Defined as "the ability to identify and manage one's own emotions and the emotions of others", Emotional Intelligence (EI) is considered an essential component of human intelligence, and therefore of any personal or professional success. For several decades now, methods for measuring sentiment have been at the cutting edge of research and development: what works today? What doesn't? How does it work? And what about tomorrow?

Kevin Adda, CTO of Better World, discusses existing and developing solutions using artificial intelligence to estimate emotions, at the Web2day event in July 2019. He details a practical case, that of sentiment analysis on textual data. We'll then see how this generalizes to any type of data and many purposes, and what the underlying issues are for the enterprise.
